Nemat Sarnevesht, Director

Nemat Sarnevesht is a Director at UISOL. He has over twenty two years of experience in software product development for the utility and telecommunications industries, including managing experience for software development organizations and teams. He has co-founded three software companies in Bay Area, one of which had a successful IPO. He has participated in many complete software product life cycles, including product requirement gathering, definition, design, prototyping, testing, release engineering, implementation, and maintenance. He has practical knowledge of development of Internet (J2EE and .Net compliant) and client/server, multi-tier, multi-threaded applications that employ distributed computing and databases. He has extensive experience with the utility industry, as well as enterprise applications, integrations, and real-time monitoring systems. At UISOL, he is helping utility clients with their integration strategies and business process management needs. He is designing and architecting integration solutions, leveraging existing infrastructures such as Message Oriented Middleware (MOM) from TIBCO.

Prior to UISol, Nemat was at Openwave Systems (NSQ: OPWV), a leading wireless telecommunication company, where he served as Director of Product Development. There, he managed a team of architects, product managers, software engineers, and testers, to define, architect, design, and develop enterprise software products. He implemented various functionalities of e-commerce infrastructure, customer relationship management (CRM), data warehousing (DW), Search Engine Technologies, ERP Integration Interfaces using Business Process Execution Language (BPEL), and business intelligence (BI).

Prior to Openwave, Nemat was a founding member and Vice President of development at TestersEdge Inc., a software startup company, focusing on software development testing tools. He contributed in the successful launch of TestersEdge software testing coverage and comprehension tools for C/C++ (Hindsight) and Java (GJTK). He was involved in all stages of product development from requirements gathering to definition, design, development, and deployment of TestersEdge products.

Prior to TestersEdge, Nemat was a founding member and Vice President of development at Opencountry Inc., a leading provider of node management technologies for Linux based servers. Nemat assembled and managed a team of product managers, developers, and test engineers, for definition, design, development, and deployment of initial (V1.0) application management tools, OC-Manager, which is revolutionizing the management of Nodes and Applications at desktop and servers at the edge of the network. The Open Country IT Application Management is an enterprise class Linux based, web enabled application tool, which enables companies to manage their IT systems, nodes, and end-users desktops and applications.

Prior to Opencountry, Nemat was a founding member of Niku Corporation (NSQ: NIKU) where he served in many capacities such as Vice President of Engineering and Vice President of New Technology. There, he built and managed teams that introduced several new product lines, including an internet portal that provided a hosted project management solution for independent consultants, an extranet product to extend the reach of enterprises into their partner networks, and enterprise project collaboration products.

Prior to Niku, Nemat was Sun Micro Systems (NSQ: SUNW) and served as a product development manager. There he was a key developer, architect, and development manager of a group of developers with external help from Art Technology Group (ATG) and Documentum Inc. to document manage Sun Microsystems corporate web site. He Integrated Documentum Document management system as well as their web site deployment tool (RightSite) to automate content development and deployment of Sun.com corporate site.

Prior to Sun, Nemat spent more than five years at ABB Systems Control, a leading provider of SCADA/EMS systems to utility industry. There he served as lead architect and technical project manager in many successful installations of SCADA/EMS systems. Some of these project involved major utilities, such as: California ISO, Philadelphia Electric (PECO), Pennsylvania Jersey Maryland (PJM), Cincinnati Gas and Electric (CGE), and Nova Gas. ABB SCADA Systems were client/server applications, implemented on both Digital Unix and Digital VMS, using proprietary real-time databases. Majority of functionalities were written in C and C++, with X-Motif on the UI.

Nemat began his career at General Electric Nuclear division, where he was involved with array of real time monitoring systems, monitoring the Nuclear Reactor’s fuel. At GE Nuclear, he served as a key software developer for GE Nuclear Core monitoring system (3D-Monicore). 3D-Monicore was a VAX based, real-time monitoring system, designed to monitor Nuclear Fuel exposure. 3Dmonicore was a Client/Server; character graphics, real-time monitoring system implemented in C and FORTRAN on VAX/VMS based systems.

Nemat received a BS and an MS in Mechanical Engineering from San Jose State University.
