CIMvian is a tool that provides the means to visualize and analyze CIM RDF Schemas and CIM XML instance files. CIMvian was designed and developed by Kalidindi 'Srini' Raju of UISOL. CIMvian is offered for free use to aid and expand the use of the CIM by the electric utility industry.

CIMvian features include the following:

• Graphically browse and navigate CIM XML model files, using lists of objects organized by class and graphical 'subgraphs'
• Graphically navigate model using subgraphs, with zoom in, zoom out, foward and back controls
• Find objects
• View CIM XML incremental (difference) model files as applied to a base model, clearly showing those objects that have been added and those that have been deleted
• View object properties
• Edit object properties
• Set filters for classes and properties
• Execute SPARQL queries
• Browse CIM RDF Schema files
• Edit RDF schemas
• Browse CIM OWL files
• Edit OWL files
• Validate a CIM XML model file against an RDF Schema.

Licensing and Download

Please read the terms of the CIMvian licensing agreement. If you agree to the licensing terms, you may request a free download of CIMvian for use. A CIMvian tutorial is provided. Be sure to check the UISOL site periodically for updates. CIMvian is planned to be available to beta users on November 12, 2007.
